About Course
Course Overview:
The SOLIDWORKS® Product Data Management (PDM) Software course is designed to introduce participants to the essential tools and workflows for managing engineering data efficiently and securely. SOLIDWORKS PDM enables teams to control design data, collaborate effectively, automate workflows, and ensure version control—all integrated directly within the SOLIDWORKS CAD environment.
Through a structured series of lessons, this course covers the complete data lifecycle: from understanding PDM fundamentals and using the user interface, to managing file versions, document check-ins, workflows, and Bill of Materials (BOM) handling. Learners will also explore advanced topics such as smart folders, file references, notifications, search tools, and working with cached files and local copies.
Ideal for design engineers, CAD administrators, and project teams, this course empowers participants to streamline product development processes, maintain data integrity, and enable collaborative, secure engineering environments.
